Bos Project
Need some support and encouragement?

The Bos project is available to ALL young people aged between 18 and 30 and will help you turn your good idea into a fantastic new business

Thousands of young people in Wales are already taking the first step towards setting up their own business - so why not you? You may well have thought about it but dismissed the idea because it’s too scary. Well now there’s no excuse, because Bos is there to help you every step of the way.

Of course, starting up a business can feel like a giant leap in the dark. But that’s why Bos has been set up. It’s focused on helping young people realise their dreams and achieve their full business potential, through mentoring, workshops and specialist support.

Inspiring leaders

A dedicated team of Development Officers are on hand across Wales to mentor and motivate you, making sure all your needs are met at every stage until you’re ready to make the leap.

The BOS project will inspire and prepare you for self-employment by giving you:

  • A geniune understanding of the implications of setting up a business
  • The confidence to identify and acheive your goals
  • Help to define your business concept

You’ve got a friend

Development Officers are not there to order you around or be your boss. Their job is to be your friend. To listen to your plans and use their experience to help you identify the specific needs of your business idea. They’ll help motivate you, challenge you, and generally support you.

What you can expect:

Analysing your needs – An initial one-to-one session will help identify the specific needs of your business idea. You’ll meet with a Development Officer who will explain some of the services available to you and offer you the support you need.

Creative sessions – To help you identify your customers and the most effective marketing strategies to reach them. They’ll help build your confidence with sessions that are tailored to suit your individual business idea.

Research support – An in-house team will help you research your idea, making sure you’re clear on what you need to do before you launch your business.

Mentoring – Individual sessions with a mentor are designed to provide you with an experienced ‘ear’ – a Development Officer who will listen and guide you as you move towards starting up your business.

Professional expertise – You’ll benefit from professional advice and expertise on all sorts of areas including legal issues, design, PR and marketing.

Over to you - Once you’re ready to get going you’ll be briefed about the other services available to you as a new business start-up.

So what are you waiting for? To find out more about how to join the Bos project call 0808 160 1830 or check out www.bos1830.co.uk

With Bos on your side you’ll never be on your own.

Remember to also check out G2E  and KEF Scholarships - they may be able to help get your business off the ground!
